Activities

Parent-to-Parent matching is available for families who would like to talk with a parent whose child has a similar disability or circumstances.

Information and Referral is provided throught printed information and/or one-to-one contacts by mail, phone, e-mail, or in person.

Technical Assistance and Consultation are provided for families and professionals concerning a variety of disability-related issues including:

• early intervention
• public school services
• child care
• inclusion
• effective communication
• parent support and parent/professional collaboration

Training is provided and sponsored on various topics such as:

• laws concerning persons with disabilities
• behavior management
• inclusion
• specific disability information
• support parent training

Support is available based on the expressed needs of families. Examples include:

• attending meetings with families
• helping families access services and resources
• sponsoring Parent Groups and other networking opportunities
