We have created a theatre class for teens and adults with special needs who may have cognitive and/or physical disabilities.

*This class is a special addition to Creative Works and is led by certified teachers and assistants with Theatre or Special Education degrees/training. Limitless actors will learn basic drama techniques and explore different theatre elements, including movement, music, makeup, props, costumes, scenery, and much more. We hope to build each actor’s confidence while encouraging social interaction and limitless creativity!

*All participants need to be able to take care of their personal needs unless accompanied by a caregiver. If your child has a “one-on-one” worker, they are invited and encouraged to attend and participate as well at no additional charge.

*This is an active participation class. Students are not required to be verbal but do need to be able to follow simple instructions.

*The class is for ages 15 and up.

All equipment is provided. Life vests are encouraged but not required. This is a volunteer-led, grant-funded event with limited participant spots.

Each participant is paired with trained volunteer guides who provide one-on-one support.

All equipment is provided, including hunting and fishing gear. Specialized adaptive equipment is available for individuals with mobility limitations. Events are limited based on available volunteer guides. Meeting locations vary but often include the Alexander County Fairgrounds for hunting and Whittenburg Lake Access for fishing.
